In September the first Design Law Day will take place in Jena, Germany. The event aims to do justice to the growing importance of design protection law. Visitors to the event can discuss current developments and legal questions with experts in detail.

On September 8, the JenTower in Jena, Thuringia, will open its doors for the first Design Law Day, which will alternate with the established Jena Brand Law Day in the future. At the start of the event, participants will receive a short update from the German Patent and Brand Office (DPMA) regarding registration procedures and the newly introduced annulment procedure for designs. Next you can attend interesting specialist talks and learn more about such topics as intellectual property rights violation, the enforcement of design law, and the relationship between design law and established intellectual property law.

The event is organised by DPMA in cooperation with the brand association “Markenverband e.V.” as well as the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. You can find the program and registration form on the brand association’s website (German). Please note that the number of participants is limited to 40 in order to ensure adequate time for discussion and exchange.
