INTA podcast shares insights from IP offices worldwide

Listen to the new special series of INTA's Brand & New podcast – and gain inside information from IP offices around the globe and learn how to advance your IP protection strategies.

Have a look behind the scenes of various IP offices in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the USA with a current special series of the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) Brand & New podcast, published this July and August. High-profile guests such as heads of IP offices share important, practical experiences and discuss future key topics.

So far, the series has already welcomed Daren Tang of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (Ipos), who spoke about the growing importance of international cooperation for IP protection strategies. Andrei Iancu, Head of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), shared his experiences with the strategic optimization of trademark application filings; while Benoît Battistelli, former President of the European Patent Office (EPO), gave his opinion on current challenges of the European IP landscape.

Other guests scheduled to appear on the podcast include David Kappos, former head of the USPTO, as well as David Ochieng and Alice Muthoni Wahome, who as members of the Kenyan Parliament will provide insights into IP enforcement strategies in Africa.

The Brand & New podcast has been interviewing influential experts about current developments in the IP protection landscape since November 2018. Diverse topics such as cybersecurity, tech startups, the future role of artificial intelligence in the patent system, the possible effects of climate change on IP rights, and the emerging generation Z’s relationship with brands have already been discussed.
