In the fight against piracy, MAHLE, a Stuttgart-based automotive component supplier, is now relying on products from tesa scribos. New, complex security and sealing labels are to make the company's automotive products secure against counterfeiting.

In order to combat potentially dangerous counterfeits of its products, MAHLE, an automotive component supplier, is upgrading its security labels using the VeoMark security technology from tesa scribos. This allows a quick authenticity check with the unaided eye.

tesa VeoMark is an individual identification system for security labels, including the customer’s specific high-resolution design as well as visible and invisible security features on up to four layers. The features are supposed to be uncopyable – be it holographically or with printing technology – and are inextricably connected with the customer’s security label, making an unambiguous authenticity check possible.

In addition, MAHLE will also protect its products with special sealing labels from tesa in the future. They will be attached to the product packaging and generate an irreversible proof of being opened, protecting deliveries from manipulation.

In the fight against illegal counterfeits, MAHLE not only counts on complex security labels though, but also on communication: On the company’s website, users can find important information regarding the company’s anti-piracy measures as well as concrete examples of counterfeit products designed to raise customer awareness for the subject. The informational offering is rounded out by a step-by-step guide on how to verify the company’s security label as well as an online function for checking product authenticity.
