Learn how to efficiently act against counterfeiting with innovative IP management and digital market observation, at the VDI’s web conference in November. Karg und Petersen will also take part with a keynote on targeted anti-counterfeiting measures from marketing and PR.

At a free online conference hosted by the Association of German Engineers (VDI) on 3 and 10 November, experts from research and industry will share insights on how companies can effectively protect themselves against IP infringements. The event will focus on targeted IP management, online market monitoring, and anti-counterfeiting communications.

Michael Scholtysik of the University of Paderborn, for example, will show how innovation-oriented intellectual property management can be used to identify risks and develop security concepts on the first day of the conference. Practical experiences in web analysis of IP infringements will be in the focus of a presentation by Martin Herrmann from SEW-Eurodrive; while on the second conference day, Kai Lüderwald from the online service provider Webscout will show how digital monitoring can create more transparency.

Special anti-counterfeiting measures from marketing and PR are the focus of Karg und Petersen’s contribution, also taking place on the second conference day. Steffen Baumhauer, Senior Consultant at Karg und Petersen, will share insights into how targeted communications contributes to effective brand protection – for instance by increasing the impact of legal measures via communications; or e.g. by enabling traders and customers to distinguish between original and fake products. Selected examples from our work will illustrate how Anti-Piracy Communications works in real life.

The free web conference is designed for specialists and managers from business and industry, and is co-hosted by the VDI regional association of Karlsruhe and the working group Kontra-Produktpiraterie (KoPira). The event, which was initially scheduled as an on-site conference in spring 2020, takes place on 3 and 10 November, starting at 4 pm. You can register online via the VDI website.
