The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) now offers you the chance to take part in an online course about intellectual property law and protection. It will start on 18 April 2016 and is free of charge.

The self-study course is in English language and can be completed via the internet. Twelve different modules will give you in-depth information for example on copyright, trademarks, patents and geographical indications.

Experienced tutors will assist you throughout the entire course. In addition, self-assessment tools are placed throughout each module to help you check your level of knowledge as well as your learning progress. The course concludes with a final exam; participants who pass will be awarded a certificate of course completion.

The course begins on 18 April and ends on 30 May. It is open to everyone seeking a deeper understanding of IP, those employed in the administration of IP rights as well as people who generate various forms of IP and want to protect it. More information and the possibility to register can be found on WIPO’s course website.
