Join the discussion at PATINFO2024 - and learn more about why IP rights such as trademarks, patents, and registered designs are essential in the fight against counterfeiting. An early bird discount is currently still available for those interested.

PATINFO2024, a conference for IP experts and industry representatives, will be held in Ilmenau, in the German state of Thuringia, from 5 to 7 June. The event, which is organized by the Technical University of Ilmenau and the State Patent Centre of Thuringia (PATON), also offers workshops and an exhibition. The focus of this year’s meeting is on “Protecting against counterfeiting: Why patents, trademarks, and designs are essential”.

The conference will open with a keynote speech by Eva Schewior, President of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA), and a welcome address by Regina Hock, President of the German Federal Patent Court. This will be followed for the first time by a panel discussion on the topic of “IP rights vs. counterfeiting”.

Subsequently, several specialist presentations by experts and patent professionals from industry and business will offer a wide range of insights into current topics. For example, Ingrid Bichelmeir‑Böhn from Schaeffler will shed light on the topic of AI and digital measures against counterfeiting, while Lena Weiland from Andreas Stihl will talk about combating counterfeiting at STIHL. In addition, topics such as patent infringements in China, counterfeiting in Italy, and U.S. design patents, among others, will also be discussed.

The PATINFO2024 program is rounded off by a free workshop segment and an accompanying exhibition with around 30 exhibitors. Participants can still benefit from an early bird discount if they register by 30 April. More information, a detailed event program, and the opportunity to register can be found on the PATINFO2024 event page.
